| [ Visit Site ] The Laboratory for Molecular Typing was established in 1996 at by Prof. Carl A. Batt. It is a fee-for-service facility within the New York State College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at Cornell University and available to all users including those from outside the university and outside New York state. When requested we operate under a strict confidentiality policy. We offer a variety of technologies to identify and characterize microorganisms to the genus, species and subspecies level. The core instrumentation for molecular typing of bacteria is the Riboprinter® Microbial Identification System from Qualicon (subsidiary of DuPont) which generates very precise and highly diagnostic genetic fingerprints for bacteria. |
