[ Visit Site ] The FS-MRL Laser and Spectroscopy Facility (LSF) within the Frederick Seitz Materials Research Laboratory at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is open to scientists from around the world, from universities, government laboratories, and industrial research laboratories, usually on a fee basis (see rates). It offers researchers access to spectroscopic techniques without the large equipment expenditures and long lead times necessary for mastering complicated techniques. Users are introduced to optical measurement techniques and trained to safely and effectively use state of the art optical and electronic equipment. The Facility is equipped with a mixture of commercial instruments and custom apparatus.
